Printer Resolution 1440/2880 dpi
Max Paper Width 44"
Max Image Width 43.5"

Our newest, fastest, bestest printer. A new vivid magenta ink gives even better color rendition, wider color gamut, higher Dmax, sharpness, metamerism, and archival rating than the previous Ultrachrome inks. Works on glossy and matte papers equally well.

Epson 9900 Pros: Most photographic, highest quality, best color, best results on glossy/matte papers. And much sharper. Yes, even better than the 11880.
Epson 9900 Cons: There are NO cons. Except that it's only 44" wide.

Epson 11880 Pros: Very photographic, highest quality, best color, best results on glossy/matte papers.
Epson 11880 Cons: There are NO cons. Except that we don't have very many wide papers yet.

Epson 9800 Ultrachrome K3

Epson 9800 Ultrachrome K3
Ink Type Epson Ultrachrome K3 (Photo and Matte Black)
Ink Colors 8 (CMYKcm+lk+llk)
Printer Resolution 1440/2880 dpi
Max Paper Width 44"
Max Image Width 43.5"
Ink "Lightfastness" 45-165 years, depending on paper and storage****

We have two of these high-end printers (one glossy, one matte). Each one uses 8 Ultrachrome K3 pigment inks, resulting in better color rendition, wider color gamut, higher Dmax, sharpness, metamerism, and archival rating than the previous Ultrachrome inks.

Epson 9800 Pros: Even though this is our most economical printer, the results are excellent.
Epson 9800 Cons: Maximum 44" paper. This printer's technology is somewhat long in the tooth, though you'd never know it from the amazing output it still puts out.

**** - This fine print is from Epson: Ink lightfastness rating based on accelerated testing of prints on specialty media displayed indoors under glass. Actual print stability will vary according to media, printed image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity and atmospheric conditions. Epson does not guarantee longevity of prints.
